There are several major credit card companies. These include Visa and MasterCard. Different credit card issuers work with credit card companies to offer you the best credit card deals available. Some banks only work with one of the credit card companies and may only offer Visa or only offer MasterCard. Some credit card companies may allow the bank to offer both. This will give you an option when you are applying for a credit card.
